Congratulations to Emma Mercier, C&I professor and developer of the Food For Thought app, which won two first place awards at the 2019 Engineering Open House (EOH) held March 8-9. Lu Lawrence and Susan Kelly, both PhD students in Curriculum & Instruction and members of Mercier's lab group, brought home the top prize in both the Innovation in Energy and Sustainable Solutions categories.
Mercier is the director of the Collaborative Learning Lab group (CoLearnLab), which presented the app at EOH. During her time with Education, Mercier has forged several cross-disciplinary, technology-based research collaborations with College of Engineering investigators and research groups, elevating the work of Education researchers throughout campus. The CoLearnLab collaborated with Civil and Environmental Engineering's Ven Te Chow Hydrosystems Laboratory to run the Food For Thought exhibit at EOH.
Thousands of visitors participated in this year's open house events. Again, congratulations to the CoLearnLab on an excellent showing at the 2019 Engineering Open House!
