Hello again everyone! After a long hiatus, the ISSS Blog is ready to go again. We'd like to welcome all new students to campus and to the U of I family - we're so happy to have you here! If you were at New Student Check-in, you'll realize that we are welcoming a large group of international students from all over the world. If you're curious about how many international students we have here, check out our stats from past years. We hope you were able to take advantage of the Orientation programs, and that you are on your way to getting settled in and feeling like an Illini!
For those of you returning from Summer break, we hope you enjoyed your time off and were doing something exciting! If you're getting ready to graduate this year, then it probably seems like you're on your way to a year of many "lasts". Perhaps the last time you'll have to wait in line for books, or the last time you'll have a class in Lincoln Hall. It can be somewhat bittersweet, but also exciting as you might have started to think about your next steps.
ISSS has some great events going on this year and we hope you're able to come out and join us. Remember to check out the ISSS calendar which is updated on a regular basis with upcoming events being held both by our office as well as other campus units. Another way to stay in touch with what is going on is through the ISSS newsletter. The first issue should be coming out next week. Another way to get involved on campus
Football games will be starting up soon, the weather will get cooler and leaves will start changing color. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy these last lovely days of summer and have a wonderful semester!
