The Department of Mathematics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is proud to host the 2018 Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics (ICTM) State Math Contest Finals on May 5, 2018.
The purpose of the ICTM State Math Contest is to recognize outstanding mathematical achievement, encourage independent study, stimulate interest in mathematics, and provide a wholesome meeting ground for students and teachers of mathematics through academic competition.
The high school portion of the contest consists of two parts, a regional competition held at sites throughout the state in February, with top teams and individuals advancing to the state finals, held at the University of Illinois, in May. Events at the contest include both individual and team events and an oral presentation event.
Information about the contest and details for participating teams can be found on the ICTM Math Contest website, and volunteer and local information can be found on the UI Department of Mathematics contest website.
