Job Title: Digital Communications Student Assistant
Hours: 15 to 20 per week

Job Summary
The Digital Communications Student Assistant for the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Advancement helps build pride in UIC and keep alumni and donors interested in and engaged with the university by producing high quality digital communications that share news and events with our audiences. Your work will help OVCA to advance UIC’s mission of providing the broadest access to the highest levels of intellectual excellence by building a sense of pride in the alumni community, showing our donors the impact of their gifts and fostering teamwork and connection among the university’s advancement staff.
Job Responsibilities
• Manage the annual enewsletter schedule for the donor relations and communications team
• Build monthly newsletters using UIC’s WebTools email platform
• Route newsletters for review and incorporate feedback
• Write content as needed and size images
• Record monthly metrics
• Assist with quarterly reports analyzing metrics and measuring success
Job Knowledge and Skills, Education and Experience
• Strong writing and editorial skills
• Basic Photoshop skills for sizing images or willingness to learn
• Detail-oriented with good organizational and time-management skills
• Working knowledge of HTML
• Familiarity with email marketing platforms a plus

• Collaborate with graphic designer to create fun, creative stories for social media channels
• Keep social media calendar up to date
• Develop engaging content for UICAA social media channels
• Record monthly metrics
• Create quarterly reports analyzing metrics and measuring success
Job Knowledge and Skills, Education and Experience
• Fluency with social media platforms and an understanding of trends and best practices
• Understanding of social media metrics
• Detail-oriented with good organizational and time-management skills
• Creative writing skills
