Honors Courses still available! - HON Core, 200, 201, 301 fulfill Honors Activity requirement.
Several Honors Cores have seats, including Richard Corley’s HON 142, “Play with a Purpose,” a hands-on theater class.
- HON Core course numbers can be repeated up to two times with different topics.
- First-years and new transfers can register immediately; other students must request permission for these courses at https://go.uic.edu/HONCorePermissionReqest.
HON 200 courses count for Honors Units but do not accrue credit hours or affect your gpa; they are highly interactive and rarely include major writing assignments. Courses with seats available include:
- “Considering Antiracism,” led by advisors Lauren Bell and Alex Sainvilier, provides an opportunity for students to think about putting social justice into practice in daily life.
- “Working Toward Authenticity,” led by advisor Sally Blechschmidt, focuses on individual self-development and wellness.
HON 201 and HON 301 (1 credit hour, S/U grading) fulfill Honors course requirements.
- HON 201 classes can be repeated multiple times with different topics; availability is limited.
- HON 301 has many available seats, including a section offered by Leila Amiri, a faculty fellow affiliated with the College of Medicine.
