We are hiring two undergraduate Research Assistants for a National Science Foundation “Research Experience for Undergraduates” (REU) funded position. Core responsibilities and opportunities include:
- Work 15 hours/week for pay starting in Summer 2021 and continuing through Spring 2022
- Build your resume and references for jobs, grad school, and careers
- Gain experience on nationally-funded research at a leading research institution
- Develop new skills in the design and execution of a research protocol and the management of a large research project
Summary of Research Project
Historically, methods for measuring skin color have varied across fields, and little evidence exists regarding which is best for what purpose. Our projects take advantage of new technologies to bridge these divides. Our team is the first to compare multiple skin color rating scales (widely used in the social sciences) with direct device readings (more common in medicine and physical anthropology).
