Undergraduate Research Assistants for Research on Sexual Assault, Social Support, and Recovery
We are looking for motivated social sciences majors- Psychology or Criminology, Law and Justice preferred - to help us with a NIH-funded study of sexual assault disclosure, social reactions from informal social networks members and recovery outcomes. If you are interested in survey and interview research on sexual assault survivors and their informal supports, PTSD, and problem drinking, our project is an excellent opportunity to learn valuable skills and observe experienced, serious researchers at work.
Students must be sophomore, juniors, or seniors and have a strong academic record (3.5 GPA). Research experience is strongly preferred (may include research methods and/or statistics classes), especially in the field of sexual assault. Students with strong writing skills and experience in data analysis may have opportunities for publication. As undergraduate assistants, students will assist the professor and a team of graduate students with various research tasks, including recruitment and general virtual office tasks. Other tasks may include literature searches, data coding and entry, and data analysis, and interview transcription.
Students will receive 1 credit hour for every 3 hours of work per week or 3 credit hours for 9 hours of work per week (generally CLJ 399, or PSCH 396). Students can also earn credit for an Honors College activity.
