Come join the team in the UIC Office of Health Literacy and work on projects to help reduce health disparities. The Department of Medicine at the University of Illinois Chicago is seeking to fill a part-time (approximately 10 hours per week distributed over several days) Secretarial Assistant position to provide administrative support to the Director of the Office of Health Literacy. This is a year-round position, so it is required that you are available to work during the summer months.
In this position, the Secretarial Assistant will assist the Director and administrative assistant with routine office support along with some basic research on healthcare topics. You will also learn the mechanics of recording and broadcasting for our radio show. Some additional tasks include data entry projects (create, update, and revise records or documents); general office work (copying, faxing, sorting and distributing mail); greeting visitors; making deliveries; light cleaning; and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
The minimum qualifications for this position include a knowledge of standard office procedures. It is required that you have excellent technical skills and are familiar with various software used in the office such as Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; Outlook; and Zoom. You must be an independent worker who is highly organized and responsible. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are also required.
