Macbeth tells the tale of one Scottish general’s violent, power-mad ascent to the throne, aided and emboldened by his wife, following a prophetic vision shared by three witches. This operatic adaptation by Giuseppe Verdi, in a brand new production from Sir David McVicar, is not only the 2021-2022 Lyric season opener but is also an epic, haunting masterpiece, just in time for the Halloween season.
