The Flames Service Day (previously the Welcome Service Project) is an annual event for the UIC community, specifically helping connect incoming first year and transfer students to current students and staff as well as serving the surrounding UIC community. Occurring the Friday of the first week of the fall semester, the project gives students an opportunity to provide service as a group, meet new people and form friendships, build a UIC community, and kick off their journey to becoming an active citizen.
