Position Responsibilities:
This position will focus on studies including South Asians Active Together (SAATH) which is a multilevel physical activity intervention for South Asian women and girls and the Mediators of Atherosclerosis in South Asians Living in America (MASALA) Study, the first longitudinal cohort study in U.S. South Asians to understand what factors lead to heart disease and guide prevention and treatment of heart disease.
The projects sit with the Center for Community Health (CCH) and involve working with academic and community stakeholders to conduct clinical research.
This project will require travel to community sites (north side, west side & downtown) in Chicagoland and a combination of in-person and remote work. This position requires strong communication skills and ability to conduct clinical assessments, including blood pressure, blood glucose, and surveys among participants.
This position requires fluency in a South Asian language (Gujarati or Hindi/Urdu).
Qualifications:
Be able to speak either Hindi/Urdu or Gujarati languages fluently;
Be a United States citizen or permanent resident;
Have a strong interest in a career in the social or health science research;
Commit to working at least 15-20 hours per week as an intern, if not more;
Commit to working with us for a period of at least 6 months or more;
