Responsibilities
•
Interns will report to a district Transitional Youth Leader Manager and/or work under the general supervision of a designated Postsecondary Transition Coordinator (PTC) who is responsible for leading summer outreach and support efforts
•
Work with the district, network and/or school based postsecondary transition team to implement efficient marketing, communications, and outreach to students (including current CPS graduating seniors and recent alumni.)
•
Support ongoing efforts to contact graduated seniors, including assisting the PTC during student postsecondary advising sessions
•
Support efforts to contact postsecondary institutions or other supporting organizations
•
Work to build and maintain positive relationships with the postsecondary transition team over the summer and postsecondary partners

One Summer Chicago Job Posting for Transitional Youth Leaders & Youth Ambassadors
The mission of the Office of School Counseling & Postsecondary Advising (OSCPA) at Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is to ensure that every CPS senior has a concrete postsecondary plan and that he/she follows through with that plan. OSCPA will be using a near-peer outreach model to serve current CPS graduates (class of 2021) and recent alumni (class of 2020.)
Overview: Interns will report to a district Transitional Youth Leader Manager and/or work under the general supervision of a designated Postsecondary Transition Coordinator (PTC) who is responsible for leading summer outreach and support efforts. All positions will be for 20 hours a week at $15 an hour (at minimum) for 6 weeks. Anticipated start date is July 5, 2021.
