Hey everyone, my roommate and I are in a tough spot and could really use some help. We signed a lease at Campus Circle Urbana (D1 floor plan) for the upcoming school year, but it turns out we can't actually live there. I'm an incoming UIUC student and only recently found out the property doesn't count as approved housing for my first year, so I'm required to live somewhere else on top of this lease.
It was a genuine mistake on our part, and now we're stuck covering rent on a place we can't even move into while also paying for the housing we're required to be in. That's not something we can keep up with, so we're trying to find people to take over the rooms before the cost becomes a real problem for us.
We have 2 rooms open, each $900/month. If you're a second-year or anyone else eligible to live off campus, this could be a solid option. Here's what the unit and building include:
In the apartment:
Private bedroom with a desk, study chair, full-size memory foam mattress, lofted bed frame, oversized closets, two stackable dressers, and an individual lock
Private bathroom with granite counters and a tub/shower combo
Washer and dryer in unit
Dishwasher, garbage disposal, and a fridge/freezer with an ice maker
Granite counters and hardwood-style flooring
Fully furnished common areas: couch with matching armchair, coffee table, end table, bar stools, and a 50" flat screen in the living room
Gigabit internet through an Ethernet port plus high-speed wireless
USB outlets throughout
Utilities included (water, sewage, trash)
Building amenities:
Heated pool
Two-story, 24/7 fitness center
20 private study rooms (12 with TV screens)
Rooftop terrace with fire pits
Two-story club room with ping-pong, billiards, air hockey, and foosball, open 24/7
Movie theater room
Coffee bar
Yoga and dance studio
Virtual classroom with surround sound
Game room
Business center with Macs and PCs, free printing
Covered bike storage, grill area, on-site MTD bus stop, and 24-hour emergency maintenance
Covered and uncovered parking available for an extra fee
The building is right by UIUC on W University Ave, so it's an easy walk or bus ride to campus.
If you know anyone looking for a place, or if this could work for you, please reach out. Even asking around to your friends or people in your year would help a lot. We really appreciate any leads at this point.
