In January of 2011, we made a change in the ratio of cardiovascular equipment that was at CRCE (treadmills/ellipticals/bikes/steppers). These changes were based on usage patterns from the first 5 years of operation. In the past, we had the same number of treadmills as ellipticals. Many times we found people were waiting for ellipticals, while treadmills were sitting empty. We know ellipticals are now the most popular piece of cardio equipment at our facilities, therefore the change you have noticed. We also know that there is the track option for those that might not be able to get on a treadmill. You will see this same ratio at the ARC between treadmills and ellipticals.  We have heard that there is a small group of people who do not feel comfortable on the Woodway treadmills, but we also have a group who won’t run on anything else because of how comfortable Woodway treadmills are on the joints.  We have a long-term replacement plan in place for our equipment at the facilities.  When it comes time to trade-in these Woodway treadmills, I will decide whether or not to replace with more Woodway’s or go with the traditional treadmills. They are well known for their comfort, durability and long lasting performance when compared to a traditional treadmill, and this is the reason you see them at both the ARC and CRCE.  These Woodway’s are slated to be traded off this next January 2013 and I am definitely looking at going a different route in the future.  I am sorry that you had a negative experience on these treadmills and that you fell while using one.  Thanks, Brian Baxter
