On February 11, 2013, a group of MSTM students retreated for a lunch off campus to Biaggi’s Ristorante Italiano to celebrate a successful semester. This group of individuals achieved academic excellence, a benchmark set by the MSTM program. The honoring began with a congratulatory speech by Dr. Dilip Chajed and Professor Jeff Kurtz showed their appreciation for these students and their outstanding work.
During the gathering, students discussed their prior experiences in the program and what has led them to their achievement and what to expect during the final 3 months of our program. I thought the best thing about the gathering was sharing ideas to help each other build on the prior semester.
Then, the servers arrived with a full course meal that included chicken pietro, eggplant parmesan, spaghetti followed by a generous serving of chocolate cake. Following our delicious meal, people expressed their gratitude towards the professors, shaking their hands knowing we have to start preparing for our next assignments!
It was a night to remember. Not only because of the delicious meals and the achievement we received, but also a reminder that we are in the program that appreciates value of effort and perseverance.
