On the "Security" tab when administrating calendars you will notice that there are now three types of security: Public, Private and Secured.
Public - anyone in the world can view your calendar.
Private - only individuals that are listed on the "Privileges" tab have access.
Secured - you can restrict access to particular campuses, units/colleges, departments and/or user groups (this includes groups created from active directory accounts).
Secured access allows for any combination of the options listed. Extreme example:
Using "Secured" access I can allow anyone access from the UIS and UIC campuses. I can also allow access to anyone from the Illinois College of Engineering and the Illinois College of Education. I can also give access to the Illinois News Bureau (Department) and the Illinois Department of Creative Services. I can allow the members of the group called "MyPeopleList" access. I can also give access to the active directory group called "MyOtherPeopleList".
As you can see the new "Security" tab allows for an enormous amount of flexibility when it comes to assigning access. If you have any questions please let us know. Don't forget to click the right hand Help link to gain additional documentation on the Security tab or any other tab.
