Web Services at Public Affairs has made enhancements to the Form and Survey Builder. On the screens that list all forms and surveys we added a filter option. On the "Security" tab when administrating forms and surveys you will notice that there are now three types of security: Public, Private and Secured.
Public - anyone in the world can take your survey or form.
Private - only individuals that are listed on the "Privileges" tab can fill out the form or survey.
Secured - you can restrict access to particular campuses, units/colleges, departments and/or user groups (this includes groups created from active directory accounts).
Secured access allows for any combination of the options listed.
Extreme example:
Using "Secured" access I can allow anyone access from the UIS and UIC campuses. I can also allow access to anyone from the Illinois College of Engineering and the Illinois College of Education. I can also give access to the Illinois News Bureau (Department) and the Illinois Department of Creative Services. I can allow the members of the group called "MyPeopleList" access. I can also give access to the active directory group called "MyOtherPeopleList".
As you can see the new "Security" tab allows for an enormous amount of flexibility when it comes to assigning access. Don't forget to click the right hand Help link to gain additional documentation on the Security tab or any other tab.
If you experience any issues please contact us. If there are any other ways we can help your unit or department please let us know.
