Anyone who has completed at least one course from each of the four core areas is eligible to take the exam.
Grades:
If you have an "Incomplete" from Spring or Summer 2014 for an academic course, your instructor must submit your grade change by Dec. 11 in order to prevent an "F" by rule on your academic record. If you received an "Incomplete" for your Capstone course during the Spring or Summer 2014, you must file a petition to extend the incomplete. This is also due on or before Dec. 11. You will find the form at: http://www.grad.illinois.edu/gsas/graduate-student-request-form. Failure to do so may affect your Academic Standing which is calculated at the end of the semester.
December 11 is the last day to Drop a Fall semester course with a W recorded. To drop a course, you will need to complete a Late Course Change form with the approval of your academic program. A W will be recorded on your academic record for the course.
December 12 is the last day for your department to deposit your committee and departmentally approved Capstone Project paper. (The NRES department should have received your paper AT LEAST 1 week prior to this deadline.)
Graduating Students:
All NRES all 2014 graduates should complete the NRES Exit Survey before graduation. You can find the survey at: https://illinois.edu/fb/sec/8175245
There is no campus-wide Convocation event in December. There is a December reception for all NRES graduates. If you are interested in participating in the campus-wide graduation ceremony, Commencement is May 16 Please be sure to let the department know that you will be attending the Spring ceremonies.
