NRES 499: Ecological Soil Management

Course Description: This course will cover the theory and practice that underpin ecological soil management to support organic and sustainable farming systems. It will explore why and how the concept of soil health and its stewardship is the foundation of organic and sustainable production. This blended course curricula draws on materials (including system planning tools and strategies; research/practice reviews; and farm case studies, topical articles, videos, and webinars) using farmer and researcher strategies, data, and experiences. The class will draw heavily upon farm case studies and content developed for the eOrganic.community of practice that is part of the National eXtension website.
