Citizen Science Community,
I'm pleased to share an OSTP blog post that just went live this morning announcing the new citizenscience.gov and catalog of federally-supported citizen science and crowdsourcing projects.

Citizenscience.gov is an official federal website designed to accelerate the use of crowdsourcing and citizen science across the U.S. government. The site provides a portal to three key components for federal practitioners: a searchable catalog of federally supported citizen science projects, a toolkit to assist with designing and maintaining projects, and a gateway to the federal community of practice to connect with other practitioners.
The Federal catalog includes over 300 citizen science and crowdsourcing projects. The data for all of these projects is made available through an API, which will allow other catalogs to easily pull the data from the federal catalog into their websites. The Federal catalog, developed through a collaboration between GSA, the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars (WWICS), and dozens of Federal agency coordinators, builds on the work of the Federal Community of Practice for Crowdsourcing and Citizen Science (CCS) over the last several years which resulted in other important community resources like the toolkit.
Also note that Citizen Science Day, presented by the Citizen Science Association, kicks off on April 16 at the USA National Science and Engineering Festival and runs through May 21, 2016. Citizen Science Day is supported by a wide variety of organizations in including the CCS, SciStarter, AAAS, Association of Science-Technology Centers (ASTC), Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA), Center for the Advancement of Informal Science Education (CAISE), Astronomy Magazine, Discover Magazine and, Crowd and the Cloud.
Finally, as you know the 6th White House Science Fair occurred yesterday. The #WHScienceFair hashtag was trending on twitter TWICE yesterday! A White House fact sheet and a blog post was released that also includes (on page 4) these announcements:

Here’s to continued momentum in citizen science and crowdsourcing!
Cheers,
Anne (on behalf of the CitizenScience.gov team)
