As a current NRES online student, we need your help!
We are planning to promote NRES and especially the online M.S. program during the upcoming Wild Things Conference in Rosemont in February. (We hope you saw our previous Blog inviting you to join us there!)
To promote the program we are planning to have a video with clips from our alumni and awesome current students playing on a computer screen at the Exhibit Hall table. Here’s what you can do!
Using your I-phone or any other recording device, send us a 30-second mp4 file that we can merge with video from other alumni and online students. Here’s all you have to do!
- Prepare a script. Here are some things we would like you to include (any of the following are options except for your name!)
- Your name
- You are a current student (or when you entered the program)
- Your profession (and employer)
- What you are doing or intend to do for your capstone project (3 or 4 sentences)
- What you like best about the NRES program
- How you anticipate the program helping you personally or professionally
- Position the camera/I-phone to shoot landscape mode from about 2 ½ - 4 feet away from you. (We need your head and shoulders in the frame.)
- Ask someone to record you, or record yourself using a tripod (for stability and reduced movement). You can practice multiple times!
- Send us your best mp4 file AND the transcript by February 7th. We will merge the files and add closed captioning to them (hence, it would be much easier for us if we have your transcript).
Alternatively, if you cannot make the recording but want to share the same information with us, please script it and send that information along with a photograph of yourself. We will insert the still image and the captioning.
We are eager to share information about our program and our awesome students with the conference attendees. We are so proud of you! If you have any questions, please contact Renée Gracon at gracon1@illinois.edu or by phone at 217-333-7738.
Thank you in advance for supporting this project! We are counting on your help!
