The Women in Engineering ProActive Network (WEPAN) has shared an online course for potential inventors. The Inventors Patent Academy (TIPA) is a free course that offers foundational insights into the patent system, fostering trust and transparency about the patent application process. The Argonne National Laboratory is hosting a summer program from July 14th to August 1st 2025 aimed at STEM focused first and second year students. This opportunity will give participants experience with experimental techniques, coding in scientific applications, autonomous labs, and hands-on discovery. So if you have at least a 2.7 cumulative GPA and an interest in research, basic science, physical science, or other STEM career path, consider attending Argonne Laboratory's summer school!

Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) The Future of Discovery: Training Students to Build and Apply Open Source Machine Learning Models and Tools (FODOMMaT) program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign’s National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) is seeking students to apply for a 10-week paid summer training experience in machine learning. Successful applicants will work full-time on one of cutting-edge FODOMMaT research projects that develop open-source machine learning models and tools and use them to solve real-world problems. The program will be held on-site at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and REU FoDOMMaT fellows will work in person during Summer 2025.

Now receiving applications for the Summer 2026 REU InSPIRES Program at Michigan Technological University. This fully funded summer research experience runs from May 23 through July 18, 2026, and is designed to provide students with hands-on, interdisciplinary research experiences alongside professional development and cultural enrichment activities. Students will engage in applied research areas including semiconductors, life cycle analysis, wastewater management, and copper recovery, while also participating in career workshops, industry visits, team-based activities, and cultural immersion experiences.

 The program is open to 2-year and 4-year degree-seeking students in chemistry (physical or organic), biomedical, chemical, civil, electrical, and environmental engineering, as well as other related engineering disciplines. Participants receive a $5,600 stipend, with housing, meals, and travel support provided. The program will be hosted on Michigan Tech’s campus in Houghton, Michigan.

This past year I have founded The Solastra Fellowship - which has the mission to empower Latino pioneers to soar, lead, and inspire the future of aerospace and aviation! 

 You and the programs at UIUC have all in part empowered me to found this fellowship, and I would love to see some fellow students from UIUC feel empowered to apply!
