Workshops at KAM:
Behind the Scenes at Krannert Art Museum: Producing an Exhibit - Plan, fabricate, build, paint, and install an art exhibition. This is a great session for artists who wonder “What’s possible?”
For the People? Public Art on Campus - At Illinois, we are surrounded by art. Take a photography tour of public art on campus and be ready to share your discoveries. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring a smartphone or camera.
Not Your Typical Museum Tour - Engage with art by debating, re-enacting, and responding to art at Krannert Art Museum. Connect with art that is old and new, from distant places and close to home. We guarantee, you haven't toured KAM like this before.
What Does a Curator Do? - Like storytellers, curators give voice to artworks and their makers, and exhibitions are the stages where these stories unfold. Explore the visual, material, spatial, and conceptual dimensions of exhibition-making behind the scenes at KAM. Learn how curators assemble and interpret artworks to create exhibitions that tell stories, provoke questions, and inspire new ways of seeing the world around us.
