A workshop for incoming freshmen at the University of Illinois
Welcome incoming freshman to the University of Illinois! Undergraduate research is widely recognized as a one of the highest-impact experiences that a student can have during their time at university. We encourage you to begin planning how research fits into your Illinois experience. In partnership with the Office of New Student Programs, we bring to you a workshop to help you start this process.
At this workshop, we will (1) address the preconceived notions of academic research (learn what research is, and what it isn't), (2) discuss your research interests and learn how these interests are reflected in the diversity of research being conducted at Illinois, and (3) start creating your plan for getting started.
Registration is required for attendance and we have multiple sessions available. Please register for one of the following below:
