The Illinois High School Association announced that its Boys State Basketball Tournament will return to the State Farm Center in Champaign for three years, through 2023.

The two programs will play on campus at either Mizzou Arena in Columbia, Mo., or State Farm Center in Champaign, Ill. A coin flip will determine the location.

 The revised 2020 Illinois football schedule was released by the Big Ten Conference today, with the Fighting Illini opening the season September 3 with a Thursday Night Special against Ohio State at Memorial Stadium.

Due to the announced reduced capacity at Memorial Stadium this season, student tickets for Illinois football will be available through a lottery system to only Illini Pride members.

Illinois' Kofi Cockburn had an impressive debut with the Fighting Illini, averaging a double-double on the week while helping lead the team to a 2-1 record.

The Big Ten Conference announced Monday that it has moved Illinois' 2020 football season opener against Illinois State to Friday night, Sept. 4. 

When the Fighting Illini host No. 20 Purdue it will be Lou Henson Bobblehead night at State Farm Center. The first 6,000 fans to enter State Farm Center will receive a scratch-off card, with 1,500 fans receiving a Lou Henson bobblehead doll.

Illinois women's basketball is back in action at Minnesota on Sunday, Jan. 15, with a 2 p.m. CT tip. Illinois is off to a 14-3 start under first year head coach Shauna Green, one of the best starts in program history. 

Illinois ranked 24th nationally in men's basketball home attendance during the 2019-20 season, averaging 13,041 fans across 18 games at State Farm Center, for a total of nearly a quarter million spectators.

Fighting Illini volleyball will host the popular IlliNOISE Night on Friday, October 6 in a BTN-televised match against No. 18 Purdue at 7 p.m. CT in Huff Hall

Tipoff between the Illini and the Buckeyes is set for 6 p.m. (BTN). The Illini are looking to snap a seven-game Buckeyes win streak. The last Illini win the series was Feb. 14, 2015, a 66-55 decision in Champaign.

Illinois women's basketball has re-entered the national rankings, coming in at No. 25 in the AP Top-25 poll. On an eight-game winning streak, the Fighting Illini hold a 21-5 record overall,11-4 in Big Ten play. 

University of Illinois wrestling coach Mike Poeta has added one of the most-storied wrestlers in Fighting Illini history to his coaching staff with the announcement that Isaiah Martinez is joining the staff as an assistant coach.

For the fourth straight year, Illini football will honor Harold "Red" Grange by wearing special "Gray Ghost" alternate uniforms for Homecoming 

The Illini will travel to Ireland for a Week Zero game (August 21, 2021) against Nebraska as part of the Aer Lingus College Football Series in Dublin. 

Sunday's matchup is the 73rd in the series between the Illini and the Spartans. Michigan State leads the all-time series, 44-28, including an 18-15 advantage in games played in Champaign.

Illini Swimming & Diving opens its abbreviated season this week with a double dual meet on Saturday, January 16. The team will take on Purdue and Michigan State starting at 1 p.m. (CT. )

The Illinois baseball team will travel to Iowa City, Iowa, to take on the Hawkeyes this weekend. The Illini have two series remaining on the road this season.

From Friday, April 1 at 12:01am until Sunday, April 3, at 11:59pm, fans who wish to be part of Lovie Smith's first game as head coach can order $10 tickets (min. four) for the home opener against Murray State on Sept. 3.

One current and six former Fighting Illini student-athletes are set to represent their countries in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. Opening Ceremonies are on Friday, Aug. 5.

Shannon is a major addition to the 2023-24 Illini lineup. He averaged 17.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.3 steals in his inaugural season in Champaign, earning first-team All-Big Ten accolades.

The Illinois men's and women's track and field teams finished the Big Ten Outdoor Championships on Sunday (May 12). Junior Jessica McDowell cruised to victory in the 400m dash (51.73) to earn gold and 10 team points.
