This fall marked the busiest year yet for recruitment activities of all kinds. From the start of school through the end of September, eight workshops, twenty-two information sessions, an overnight site visit to St. Louis and the Scholarship Reception have filled the calendar.
In the on-campus recruiting season, we plan to host 40 companies to interview both intern and full-time candidates. At this time, we expect those companies to fill 75 interview schedules with over 597 individual interviews. Several new companies are included this year: AbbVie, Amgen, Nestle, Precision Castparts, and United Technologies Corporation. They join a number of recruiting mainstays like Boeing, General Mills, PepsiCo, Raytheon and Shell, among others.
Companies have also engaged students through in-class presentations. Ford, GE, International Paper, Raytheon, P & G, PepsiCo, and Yum! Brands are among those that have already presented on topics such as collective bargaining, data analytics, mediation, staffing, diversity, international HRM, and compensation.
Also this academic year, twelve corporate partners donated a total of $122,500 new scholarship dollars. These partners include: Boeing, BP, Eaton, Emerson, General Mills, Kellogg’s, Maxim, McKesson, PepsiCo, Phillips 66, Shell and ExxonMobil Corporation.
Annual donations from these organizations provide tuition scholarships to a top students. The average gift of $10,000 provides substantial savings for the student, cutting their education costs by as much as 30%. These donors recognize that their financial support at LER is the cornerstone to building successful partnerships and relationships with students. They demonstrate that they are willing to invest in the future of the HR function, just as students are investing in their potential to be that future. Learn about one of our current scholars here.
