Herk Baring, MHRIR 2018
Internship: BP, US Headquarters
Current Employer: BP
Roles since starting: Internship was in the Global Projects Organization (GPO), responsible for developing some of the largest and the most technically advanced projects in the energy sector. This consists of large scale assets to uncover oil and natural gas, both onshore and offshore. I interned as a People Adviser/Business Facing HR and supported the group in Talent Review, data revision, and helped develop an interface to assist Team leads in Human Capital Deployment across the globe. Currently serving as a Workforce Administration Specialist, supporting line managers and HR Representatives, review complex employee processes, and data changes that are in compliance with BP’s policies.
Lives in: During my internship, I lived 2 miles from Headquarters in the energy corridor. BP had provided a safe, fun environment for the interns to live and build a community. Since I started full time last March, I have been living in Downtown Houston.

Internship: Raytheon’s Space and Airborne Systems, McKinney TX as an HR specialist in Organizational Effectiveness
Current Employer: Raytheon
Roles since starting full time: First rotation- Raytheon’s Integrated Defense Systems business as an HR specialist- rotated through labor relations, talent acquisition, total rewards and compensation, and supported three functional groups as an HRG (Security, Program Excellence, and IT). Second rotation as an HRG- Raytheon Intelligence and Space business unit of Raytheon Technologies
