The Best Convention Paper Award is given to the author(s) of the best paper accepted by the HR Division Program Committee for the annual Academy of Management conference. For 2016, there were 337 paper submissions to the HR Division, and one winning paper selected. This year, the award winner is "Social Network Contagion in Job Satisfaction-Intention-Turnover Model" by Wei Wang (U of Central Florida), Daniel A. Newman (U of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign) and Robert L. Dipboye (U of Central Florida). The paper provides a novel set of explanations for turnover contagion, which occurs when individuals quit their jobs subsequent to their at-work peers’ quitting.
