LER welcomes Raytheon as a new corporate scholarship partner for Fall 2019. Each year LER admits over 100 diverse students who all share a passion for strengthening the human component of organizations, and our partner organizations help LER attract the best and brightest to our campus.
Raytheon has a long and successful recruiting partnership with LER, hiring students into their internship and LDP programs each year. Currently, Allen Reid, MHRIR 2003, Vice President, Human Resources & Security, Raytheon Missile Systems, and LER Alumni Board Member, spearheads Raytheon’s campus relationship. Three of the four divisional HR VP’s at Raytheon are LER alumni, including Allen, Steve Ratner, MHRIR 2001, and Dan Almasy, MHRIR 2002.
Allen has enjoyed much success at Raytheon, and is looking to continue to build the talent pipeline at Raytheon by sponsoring this scholarship and continuing to hire fresh talent out of the LER program. “With more than 3,000 alumni around the world, the University of Illinois’ School of Labor and Employment Relations has proven to be a rich source for Raytheon as we look to attract top talent to our Human Resources organization,” states Reid. “A master’s degree from LER demonstrates that HR Leaders have what it takes to attract, develop and retain the essential technical talent necessary for us to grow globally in the highly competitive aerospace and defense industry. As a company, Raytheon has several graduates of LER in the most senior HR leadership roles. As proud sponsors of the Raytheon scholarship, we are investing in the next generation of top HR talent from LER.”
Raytheon welcomed their most recent intern, Brianna Corleto, in Boston for Summer 2019. Kate Holtkamp started her full time career in the LDP program in Boston as well, following her summer 2018 Raytheon internship in McKinney Texas. We wish the both well, and send heartfelt thanks to Raytheon for their budding partnership with LER in recruiting and scholarship support
