International Paper has a long history with the School, and returned to recruiting vigorously in recent years. In summer 2019, five interns were employed by International Paper, and all five were converted to full-time hires. 2020 is the organization's first year as a Scholarship Partner.
This summer, International Paper hosted two interns, Ethan Hall and Richard Chung. Ethan holds a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University, and before this experience he was an ESL Educator for VIPKid, part of the Writing Center Staff at Purdue University, and was Copywriter/Market Research Intern at WeCreate Media. Richard holds a bachelor’s degree from UIUC, and was a Research Assistant at the Leadership, Competition, and Collaboration Lab, and a Marketing and Recruitment Administrator for the Team Doberman charity.
After graduation, IP offers a challenging rotational development program that gives strong front-line plant experience as an HR Associate: International Paper’s HR Associate position is part of an intense, on-the-job development program offered to college recruits and early career HR professionals who have the desire to continuously grow their career and aspire to become senior HR leaders. The intent of this developmental program is to place HR Associates in generalist roles that provide a thorough understanding of fundamental employee relations principles and practices, while they provide operational support and gain an understanding of the company’s businesses, markets, key customers and long-term strategies.
International Paper is a great place to start a career, and has been on Fortune Magazine's World’s Most Admired Companies® for 17 years, and as of 2020 has been on Ethisphere Institute World’s Most Ethical Companies® 2020 for 14 consecutive years.
