LER Visits Alumnus Gentzy Franz at Uptake Technologies
On May 4, 2017, LER students and staff visited Uptake Technologies in Chicago, Illinois. Uptake uses predictive analytics to create a platform that helps industries like construction, energy, and retail optimize performance, reduce asset failures and enhance safety.
Alumnus Gentzy Franz, Director of Organization Development at Uptake, treated participants to a tour of their facilities. The visit conincided with Uptake's annual hack-a-thon, in which employees form cross-functional teams to collaborate on new ideas for processess and products. Students were able to talk with teams throughout the tour and enjoyed the high-energy and dynamic atmosphere of the 48-hour event.
Kami Bond, Uptake's Senior Vice President, People, spoke during lunch. Kami's experience in HR spans a variety of industries and roles, providing students with practical knowledge as they transition into summer internships and full-time employment.
