Student Spotlight: Alex Taylor, MHRIR 2021
Alex Taylor will receive her master’s degree from LER in May 2021. She came to LER from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Illinois where she majored in Communication with a concentration in Rhetoric and Public Discourse. Much of her undergraduate experience involved being a tour guide and holding positions as a recruitment director in different organizations, which led her to seek out the LER program.
Coming to LER was an obvious choice for me following graduation. As a UIUC student, I had heard of LER's reputation since my freshman year. I was first impressed by the opportunities LER presented, but was convinced it was the place for me when I felt the community of students and recognized the network I would have. Now that I'm here, I couldn't be more confident that I made the right decision. My professors, my classmates, and the staff in LER are constant supporters and want me to succeed. The mix of being challenged and being supported at LER is the culture I hope to bring to my future professional experiences.
Alex is a first semester in the program, and is currently doing an HR internship with the University of Illinois Foundation.
