Josh Angles will receive his master’s degree from LER in December 2019. He came to LER from PNC Fincancial Services Development Program following his graduation from Western Michigan University.
In November, Josh had the unique opportunity to attend the National Academy of Human Resources annual conference and gala in New York City. Numerous master's candidates and SHRM scholarship recipients were selected from top HR schools across the country, and Josh represented LER at the event. He enjoyed the opportunity to meet individuals from peer institutions, saying that he "left with more than six new members of my peer network from other leading HR programs."
Participants attended a student-only session led by professors from various HR research institutions and leaders of major corporations to discuss timely topics for their HR career to shape their point of view as future leaders. They also joined the current NAHR board and inductees for break-out group sessions that covered hot topics.
The evening comprised a stunning gala with pre and post dinner receptions. During dinner, new fellows were inducted to the NAHR, also known as “The HR Hall of Fame."
"It is rare to be able to glimpse into the minds of HR leaders who are at the top of their field. This experience allowed not only the chance to talk with HR leaders in academia but practitioners from tech to manufacturing to consumer package goods," relayed Josh. "It was a pleasure to be able to listen to (and engage with) those at the pinnacle of their career, discussing the issues that are top of mind."
Josh will be joining Zillow Group in Seattle, Washington, upon graduation, with alumni such as CHRO Dan Spaulding, Avi Kopparthi, and Kyle Carmack.
