The LA Lab (Language Acquisition Lab) is seeking undergraduate research assistants to help with our research in Fall 2018. Our research explores how children learn words and learn to understand sentences in their native language. We work with children between about 1 and 6 years of age. If you have an interest in language and in early development, this may be the lab for you.
Research assistants will have the opportunity to assist with all aspects of the research, including testing children and adults in experiments, coding children's visual fixations in 'preferential looking' comprehension tasks, transcribing and coding children's speech in language production tasks, and learning to run studies using an automatic eye-tracker. PSYC 290 credit is available.
If you are interested in applying, please go to our website (http://labs.psychology.illinois.edu/lalab/) and click on the "For Students" tab to find an application form. If you have questions, please contact Dr. Cynthia Fisher (clfishe@illinois.edu).
