Carle Sports Medicine’s PERFORMING ARTS MEDICINE PROGRAM is currently offering free injury evaluations to all injured performers at 2 locations each week through the fall semester.
Injury evaluations are open to all students, faculty and staff in the University of Illinois School of Music and Departments of Dance and Theatre. An Athletic Trainer with performing arts interest will evaluate your injury and provide suggestions including but not limited to:
-Rehabilitation Exercises
-Injury prevention tips
-Physician and/or physical therapy referrals when needed

MEET OUR PERFORMING ARTS ATHLETIC TRAINERS:
NICK PIPPIN is a Certified Athletic Trainer from Carle Sports Medicine. Nick has worked with the University of Illinois Marching Band and has provided coverage in the Performing Arts Medicine Clinic for the past 2 years. Along with this he provides coverage for all free walk-in clinics at the University of Illinois at the ARC and is the Athletic Trainer for Danville Area Community College. Nick is a 2018 Graduate of Ashland University with a Masters in Applied Exercise Science and a 2016 graduate from Millikin University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Athletic Training. Following his time at Millikin, he spent a year working at Caterpillar in Decatur, providing medical coverage, assisting with ergonomic evaluations, leading work conditioning, along with many other tasks.
AMANDA CHAMBERLAIN received her bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from the University of Pittsburgh and her Master’s in Athletic Training from the University of Kentucky. She currently works in therapy services at Carle Orthopedics and Sports Medicine and is the athletic trainer at Urbana High School. She volunteers as the Transition to Practice Representative for Illinois Athletic Trainer’s Association (IATA) Young Professionals Committee (YPC). While at Kentucky, Amanda volunteered with the Cincinnati Ballet Sports Medicine Staff. Additionally, she personally participated in dance, band, choir, musicals, and was a majorette growing up. Amanda is passionate and excited about starting to work with the Performing Arts Sports Medicine partnership between Carle and the University of Illinois.
