Dear School of Music Faculty and Staff:
As we continue to celebrate Black History Month in our virtual and physical classrooms, homes, and community spaces, we would like to extend an invitation to you to share what continues to inspire you at this time...perhaps you are (or have been) working on music (solo or collaboration) as part of this month's observance, and perhaps you would be willing to share your endeavors.
We are looking for video (or audio) recordings featuring the music of Black/African American composers. These recordings will be edited together to share with the entire SoM community at the end of the month.
If are are interested in submitting a recording, please upload it to the Box account at this link: https://uofi.app.box.com/f/2d4413b09d5c4286a28764c4b912f3e4
Be sure to include the music title and composer of the work. The deadline to submit a recording is Monday, February 22 at midnight. Note: Any recordings made on cell phones are viewed best when the recording window is horizontal.
Thanks, and happy fourth week of school! ...and let me know if you have any questions!
