Yes. The Qual 1 musicology and music theory exams must be taken on the same day (unless a student has failed one of the exams previously and is involved in a retake of that portion). Students are given three hours to complete each portion, Musicology and Theory.
In the event of a student taking only one of the exams on their first attempt at Qual 1, the results will be withheld by the SOM until the student has taken the second exam.
