What did you most enjoy about your internship?
Working in the film industry was an incredible experience. Seeing the entire process of how film and television shows come to fruition was a real treat, and I learned a ton about what works and what doesn’t. Sitting in on the weekly executive meetings was particularly rewarding, as the interns pitched material and actually participated rather than just sitting idly by. I also learned how to competently read scripts and write quality coverage, which has since landed me a paying freelance job working for United Talent Agency as a reader.
What was the most difficult aspect of the internship?
Leaving Los Angeles!
How did your experience at ILLINOIS and in the College of Media prepare you for your internship?
How has your internship prepared you for a career?
Hollywood is all about networking and I made some serious connections. This unpaid position has already led me to a fairly lucrative paid one, and I’m not even out of college yet!
