What did you most enjoy about your internship?
I liked reaching out to College of Education students, faculty, and alumni to talk about their experience with the College of Education. It was enjoyable seeing their reaction to the articles as well.
What was the most difficult aspect of the internship?
The most difficult aspect of the internship was putting a different spin on each article. I didn’t want the articles to sound redundant.
How did your experience at ILLINOIS and in the College of Media prepare you for your internship?
I learned to communicate both verbally and in print. I was able to write articles both efficiently and professionally.
How has your internship prepared you for a career?
My internship taught me to go out of my comfort zone and reach out to individuals I had never met. I was able to take total control and conduct interviews on my own.
What recommendations do you have for other students about doing an internship?
I recommend doing an internship not directly related to you major. I’m an advertising student, but I did a writing internship. It exposed me to different factors in the work force that I may not learn at certain internships. Who knows–you may even love it!
