What did you most enjoy about your internship?
Finn was the best internship I've ever had because it's a big company with a small company feel. We had all the benefits of the biggest agencies while still knowing most people in the office and having strong collaboration among everyone. The people are what made it.
What was the most difficult aspect of your internship?
There were many things that I was expected to do during my internship that I had never done before. Learning when to ask for help and when to jump right in was a hard lesson to learn, but once I did, it made taking on new challenges much easier.
How did your experience at Illinois and in the College of Media prepare you for your internship?
Prof. Wirtz's ADV 350 class was the most helpful in preparing me for this internship because we did a lot of writing in short amounts of time.
How has your internship prepared you for a career?
The most important career lessons I learned from working at Finn Partners were about working in a fast-paced, professional environment. I learned how to interact with everyone and contribute in every single meeting or project, despite being just an intern.
What recommendations do you have for other students about doing an internship?
The hardest assignments you take on allow you to learn the most in return. Never turn down an assignment because you don't feel that you're good enough or smart enough to take it on. Believe you can do it and prove it to them.
