Internship Title
Graphic design and videography intern
What were your duties?
I design Facebook cover photos, profile pictures and other advertisements for upcoming events taking place on campus. I also film footage to put together promotional videos from Her Campus events.
What did you most enjoy about your internship?
I like that I am gaining experience in the exact field that I want to have my future career in. It is also really laid back and I can have my job revolve around my schedule. There are several interns with the same title as me, so if they ever need graphic designers or videographers to make something for an event and I have too much going on with school at that time, they are very lenient if I am unable to make something for that event.
What was the most difficult aspect of the internship?
I don't find any difficulty in my internship. I find it really enjoyable overall.
How did your experience at ILLINOIS and in the College of Media prepare you for your internship?
I found out about this internship opportunity through the mass emails sent to me by the College of Media. The College of Media really pushes applying for internships so it made me aware of the opportunities that are out there.
How has your internship prepared you for a career?
I am interested in having a career in the creative aspects of advertising, such as graphic design. This internship has prepared me for a career in graphic design and advertising because my job is to create advertisements for Her Campus Illinois.
What recommendations do you have for other students about doing an internship?
Look out for the emails that alert you about internship opportunities. That's how I found out about this internship and I am so thankful for it. This internship is giving me the experience that I am going to need in the future.
