What were your duties? 1. Research & Analyze & Report & Proposal - Competitors analysis on Brand strategy, Advertising campaign, Catalogue, awards from other organization. - Summarize and report target consumer data for specific carline - Proposal for Electric Vehicle sales differentiation strategy from competitors and current gasoline and diesel vehicles - Create strategic message for product discontinuation - Research Brand logo misuses and create solutions 2. Planning & Scheduling - Assist Scheduling and Managing launch plan of each carline in 2016 and 2017 - Workshop planning and scheduling - Manage test-drive schedule before launching a new car 3. Agency Handling - Handle and manage advertising agencies to effectively create homepage and sales guide before launching a new product
What did you most enjoy about your internship? The most joyful event that I had experienced from my internship was participating in 2016 Korea Electronics Show as a first car manufacturer to reveal Electronic Vehicle launch in Electronics show. It was such an honor for me to be part of the future of car industry's movement.
What was the most difficult aspect of the internship? The most difficult aspect of my internship experience was time-managing for tons of tasks that were assigned to me. Even though my superiors were flexible for deadlines, I did my best to get works done before deadlines, because I probably was too excited and passionate to work for one of my favorite companies.
How did your experience at ILLINOIS and in the College of Media prepare you for your internship? Definitely experience at Illinois and in the College of Media was so much helpful for me to prepare for my internship. First, college of media at Illinois has a great reputation for being as one of the top advertising schools in the United States. I was surprised some people have already noticed this. Next, the curriculums and contents that I learned from great professors in the college of media prepare me to work for not only in academical way, but in real business way.
How has your internship prepared you for a career? I was interested in pursuing my career for brand managing and car industry. So, it was a perfect opportunity for me to achieve my future career after graduation.
What recommendations do you have for other students about doing an internship? Prepare as best as you can for resume. Stay humble, but be confident during interview. Always smile.
