Type: full-time, permanent
Start Date: June 2026 or sooner
Starting Pay: $47,700 salary
Location: - Positions are available based in central Missouri (Columbia area) and northern Missouri
(Trenton area)
- multi-day work trips around the state will be required, depending on the location of each
project (travel expenses are covered)
Required: - BS in Forest Management or a related field
- Ability/desire to work all day in sometimes thick forested environments in all weather
conditions
- Ability to drive to a local meeting place (typically the crew supervisor’s home) or a job
site as needed
- Ability to work on sometimes steep and uneven terrain on a daily basis
Preferred: - Working knowledge of tree identification and silvicultural methods in the Central
Hardwoods
- Understanding and experience in wildlife habitat requirements and management
- Experience with tree felling and chainsaw operation
- Experience with GIS software
Job Duties / Types of Projects:
- Forest Stand Improvement, both by chainsaw and hack & squirt
- Timber Sale marking and sale oversight
- Forest Inventory
- During the summer months, there will be a significant amount of forest invasive species
control, primarily by foliar treatment with backpack sprayers
