Major Duties and Responsibilities
The SSF Assistant Manager will support daily farm operations including, but not limited to, general farm maintenance, crop growth and development, harvest and postharvest, establishing and maintaining distribution and markets, and managing student interns. The assistant manager will report directly to the SSF Manager, Matt Turino.
Requirements
A bachelor’s degree and farm-related work experience is required. The preferred candidate will hold a degree in agriculture, horticulture, environmental science, or similar and have at least 1 year of experience working in specialty crop production. They would also ideally have experience operating farm machinery. This position is physically demanding and will require frequent work outdoors and heavy lifting.
Salary and Appointment
This is an Academic Hourly appointment. Salary range is between $20-25 per hour for 35- 40 hours per week depending on the season.
Starting Date
Position starts in January or February of 2025. Application review will begin December 1st and will continue until acceptable candidates are found.
