Summary
This position is located within the Agricultural Research Service, Field Organization, Midwest Area,Soil Drainage Research Unit in Columbus, Ohio.
The Incumbent deals with facts, e.g., spots readings which are outside the normal range of tolerance or acceptability, or determines how best to present raw data.
This is a term, time-limited appointment with an initial duration no less than 13 months and can be extended up to a total of 4 years.
Responsibilities
- Applies basic soil science principles to participate in scientific experiments.
- Records instrument readings, collects soil samples, and takes measurements to assist with soil physical, chemical, and biological analysis.
- Assists in identifying and installing specialized soil sensors and equipment.
- Assists in one or more phases of the soil science research process by performing a variety of standardized or routine duties, in a laboratory, field, or greenhouse environment, common to the assigned area of work.
Travel Required
