Duties & Responsibilities
establish and maintain the field research plots and greenhouse plants;
collect, process, and analyze soil and plant tissue samples for N optimization and nutrient removal;
measure greenhouse gas emission;
support other field and lab activities;
supervise undergraduate students assisting with this project (including training and assigning work and tracking work performance and deliverables);
purchase and receive chemicals and scientific supplies related to this project.
assist with data compilation, data analysis, and manuscript preparation.
Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Crop Science, soil science, environmental science, or related field is required. Research experience in the field and greenhouse and in the laboratory to crop and soil science. Ability to plan and coordinate research activities.
Preferred Qualifications
A MS degree in Crop Science, soil sciences, environmental science, or related field is preferred. Ability to carry out soil and plant tissue analyses and statistical analyses. Experience carrying out data management in Excel or the R environment. Previous experience conducting field management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel)
A valid driver's license
Ability to travel to research sites
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work in a large collaborative team environment.
Ability to work in the field under hot and humid conditions
Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 9/1/22. Salary is commensurate with experience.
