COMMUNITY OUTREACH CORPSMEMBER: A Temporary, Full-time Position. Pay: $1565/mo stipend, $5730 educational award. Dates: 1/18/16 - 12/15/16.
Location: Conservation Corps Minnesota & Iowa, Crookston, Minnesota.
Qualifications: Work outdoors and get communities involved in nature! The AmeriCorps Community Outreach Corpsmember (ages 18-25) will assist the Northwest Regional Sustainable Development Partnership (RSDP) with climate adaptation planning and projects. Projects link University of Minnesota Extension educators and RSDP partners to move communities toward climate adaptation strategies. The member will gather community information through interviews, media and peer reviewed journals and then work with community partners to provide assistance and support to programs that increase the opportunity for nature play. -- Experience making connections and building relationships between different organizations. -- Photography, storytelling and graphic design experience, aimed at capturing and presenting stories from the community to a broader network of collaborators. -- Relevant coursework in youth development, environmental education, journalism, public relations, or related field of study and/or equivalent professional experience. -- Familiarity with Minnesota biomes and watersheds. REQUIREMENTS: -- 18-25 years old. -- Full term of service must be completed in order to receive the education award.
