Getting the Job: Interviewing Tips

During an interview, candidates only have a short amount of time to portray their fit for an organization. This 30- 40 minute workshop introduces students to the most common interview styles, how to answer interview questions and follow up afterwards. This workshop also provides students with an array of resources available to them at The Career Center to help them prepare.
Graduate & Professional School Fair

Career Fair Prep: Maximize Your Experience

Attending one of the several career fairs offered on campus is an essential step toward obtaining internship experience or full-time employment. This 30-40 minute workshop teaches students how to prepare for a career fair, tips for navigating between employer booths, and how to follow-up afterward. Finally, students will learn of the resources offered at The Career Center to assist in this process
Strategic Use of LinkedIn for International Students
Location: The Interview Suite, 616 E. Green (enter Kaplan building next to McDonald's and head to 2nd floor)

This workshop will teach international students how to best utilize LinkedIn, the world's largest professional network. Students are encouraged to bring their laptop or tablet.
In the second half of the workshop, informational interviews will be discussed as an integral part of networking and your job/internship search. We will discuss how to prepare for and conduct an informational interview with an effective elevator pitch and how to turn an informational interview into an interview.
