About the Position:
Serves as a technical specialist responsible for evaluating water resource projects being constructed within the regulatory authority of Section 10 of River and Harbor Act or, Section 404 of the Clean Water Act.
DUTIES:
*Develop necessary corrective/remedial action plans necessary to maintain, enhance or restore the environmental quality of the affected waters and/or wetlands.
*Review permitted work for compliance with construction best management practices (BMPs) and the evaluation of the cumulative environmental effects of permitted and unauthorized work on a regional basis.
*Prepare wetland cover maps and Corps wetland jurisdictional boundary maps. Prepares and develops wetland habitat restoration and development plans.
*Initiate and coordinate the resolution of major permit violations with the involved property owner, concerned environmental groups, local and State and Federal agencies.
*Develop and follows through on recommendations to suspend, revoke or modify permits involving permit violations of major environmental significance.
*Provide guidance/direction on compliance and enforcement issues to lower graded staff.
