EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC is a leading national environmental consulting firm specializing in water resource issues, soil and groundwater remediation, strategic environmental engineering/management, and regulatory compliance solutions. We currently have an excellent opportunity available in the Chicago, IL, area for several, full-time and seasonal biological technicians. Full-time positions will begin from late February through late March. Seasonal positions will begin in May and extend throughout the summer, possibly into the fall. Some positions will involve a combination of field and lab work as well as travel throughout the Midwest; whereas, other positions will consist primarily of processing biological samples in the laboratory.
Candidates must have:
- High school diploma or GED; it is preferred that applicant is pursuing or has obtained a BS degree Valid driver’s license;
- Ability to collect and tabulate biological data and maintain records;
- Ability to demonstrate good work habits, this includes exhibiting initiative, being efficient and reliable;
- Ability to follow and provide direction;
- Ability to work flexible hours with night and weekend hours required
- Ability to work in a team environment;
- Travel throughout the state and Midwest may be required;
- Knowledge and ability to operate a boat is required for two positions and is preferred, but not required for other positions
- Knowledge regarding sorting/processing of biological samples is also preferred, but not required;
Duties to include assisting senior staff with adult and larval fish field sampling programs in the Midwest; processing of adult fish, larval fish, and benthic macroinvertebrate samples in the laboratory; and entry of biological data into spreadsheets or Access databases.
Salary range for these positions is $12/hour to $15/hour.
